Weapon Repair Bench
Durability is the stat that ends a weapon. At zero it breaks for good — this is the only thing that puts it back.

Watch it work
The product tutorial, start to finish.
Every SLC weapon carries sharpness and durability, and only one of them is forgiving. Sharpness you can grind back at a sharpening stone whenever you like. Durability falls as you use the weapon and never recovers on its own, and at zero the weapon breaks permanently — no repair, no salvage, buy or craft another.
The repair bench is what stops that happening. Look after a weapon here and it lasts indefinitely.
The weapon goes on the table, not in your hands. Detach it, then drag it from your inventory onto the bench — it snaps into position by itself.
Left-click the bench to use it. Do not right-click and Sit, which seats you without starting anything.
Small rocks then appear across the table, and each one you click before it goes raises durability. Miss it and you gain nothing. They come fast, deliberately, and they keep coming until the weapon will not go any higher — at which point it is at maximum and you can stand, pick it up and re-attach it.
A slaughter knife is deliberately fragile, built for one animal rather than a campaign. Weapons made by a high-level smith carry far more durability to begin with, which is what makes them worth keeping repaired.
It is one of the three benches in the Weapon Kit, alongside the sharpening stone and the practice dummy, and it is sold on its own.
