Every player carries fifty slots, and a slot is a stack rather than an item. Go over it and your fatigue starts to drain; once fatigue is gone your energy falls faster than it should and everything costs more. Nothing says so in as many words. You just get tired sooner and never find out why.
Levelling strength with CXP slows the drain. A chest removes the cause.
Stash, retrieve and rename from the chest itself, or look inside from My Storage on the website without walking back to it. Rez as many as you like — most traders end up with a row, one for food, one for ore, one for weapons.
If you are playing a profession and getting on with it, fifty slots is plenty. If you are trading or stockpiling, you have already hit this.
