Mash Tun

The Mash Tun is the first step of the brewery, and its whole job is concentration: it converts high-starch material into high-sugar material so the fermentor has something worth eating. You can skip it and ferment grain directly, but you will never reach the same alcohol.

A batch needs at least ten units of liquid and an enzyme — barley, currently the only one. Without an enzyme there is no craft button at all, because there is nothing to convert the starch. The ceiling is 1,000 starch per batch.

Raw crops beat your own recipes, deliberately. Ten potatoes straight from the field give more starch and more sugar than one potato mash you made yourself — roughly double. That penalty exists to keep raw materials worth growing. What your own mashes buy instead is everything else they carry: the health, energy and other stats of whatever went into them, and a proprietary recipe nobody else has.

The mash's colour is taken from its ingredients and cannot be set, so a vivid mash is a matter of what you put in it.

An hour a batch, and 100 crafting experience the moment you start rather than when you collect. You no longer have to sit there while it runs — start it and walk away.

Fully modifiable, one prim, and it can be relinked into your own build. Craft through the in-world HUD or the meter website if the HUD gives you trouble.
