The vegetable field is the only one with six stages. The extra one is fertilising, and it is what ties your vegetables to your pigs: plough, fertilise, seed, water, grow for seven days, then harvest 10 times with a sickle and a harvest bag.
Fertilising needs a large bag from the basketweaving station and 10 fertiliser. Fertiliser is made in a compost bin from pig dung — two dung makes one, in about three and a half hours — so a single field is roughly a day and a half of one bin's output. Compost ahead of ploughing rather than after it.
Plant cabbage, carrot, tomato, lettuce, onion, yellow onion, pea, cucumber or bell pepper. Every stage pays 10 Farmer crafting experience, and the working range is 15 metres.
