Flour Mill

The Flour Mill is a farmer's tool and nobody else's. Every recipe on it sits at level 1, so a farmer who has not levelled cannot work it either — but no tool is required, just the mill and the grain.

The exchange rate is the same across the board: ten of a grain gives you five of its flour. Wheat, barley, buckwheat, corn, millet, rice, rye, sorghum, soy, spelt and oats all mill this way, and the two syrups keep the same shape — ten sugarcane for syrup, ten agave for agave syrup.

It sits between the large fields and the kitchen, and it is a fork in the road. Wheat off a large field can go two ways: straight to a brewer, who ferments it as it is, or through here into wheat flour, which is what bread and most baking need. If the colony eats bread, somebody has to own a mill.

Nothing milled here has a collection deadline — all thirteen outputs will sit on the mill until you come for them. Unlike the cooking station, this is a bench you can safely run ahead of demand, so mill when you have grain rather than when you have an order.
