The clay mound is where pottery starts. A player takes out a small basket, left-clicks the mound, and about 30 seconds later walks away with 1 to 5 clay for 5 energy. The basket carries five durability, and tools only work on a region running an SL Colonies region server.
Clay has one destination: the pottery table. Clay jars, clay pots and pitchers all come off it, and those are the vessels a colony carries water, milk and honey in. Land with no clay on it is land where nobody can fill a jar or milk a cow.
As the owner, hold down left-click to reach Spawn points and drop as many as you like anywhere on the same region, in any position and any rotation. Each respawn — roughly every five minutes — picks one of them at random, so the mound moves around your land and nobody learns a fixed round.
One thing to know before you rearrange your build: Remove points takes them off one at a time, but picking the mound up and rezzing it elsewhere clears every point you set, and you start again.
